WTM London 2026 at a glance: dates, venue and numbers

WTM London (World Travel Market) is the international travel and tourism fair organised by RX that every year brings together in London operators, tourism boards, airlines, hotel chains and travel technology companies. The 2026 edition takes place at ExCeL London from 3 to 5 November. It is not a fair for tourists: it is a place of work, where appointments are made, deals are closed and partnerships for the following year are built.

📊 A note on the dates

Some online calendars list different dates (for example 4-6 November). The organiser RX and the vast majority of trade portals instead give 3-5 November 2026, which is the date to rely on. Before you leave, check the official website wtm.com for opening hours, programme and registration.

Who can attend and what is new in 2026

WTM London is a trade-only event: it is designed for travel professionals, not for the public. To take part you need to register online and obtain a badge. The organiser offers different access types, including the Trade badge and Trade Plus, which adds access to WTM ConnectMe, the official platform for scheduling meetings. Conditions, prices and registration deadlines change from edition to edition and should be checked on the official website: we cannot guarantee that registration is still open.

What's new in the 2026 edition

  • WTM Travel Tech: a new co-located event dedicated to travel technology, announced by the organiser after the sector's growth in the previous edition. It includes, among other things, a theatre for tech content called the “Future Stage”.
  • WTM TrendFest: after its debut, it returns in 2026 with a more central role in the fair's layout.
  • WTM Global Travel Report 2026: its presentation is scheduled for 3 November.
  • Ministers' Summit: the 20th edition takes place on 4 November, organised in association with UN Tourism and WTTC, with around 50 tourism ministers expected.
  • New tourism boards: new exhibitors announced include tourism boards and ministries from eight countries (Brunei, Côte d'Ivoire, North Macedonia, Moldova, Albania, Angola, Uruguay and Panama).

Industry trends: what the verifiable data says

Before a fair everyone talks about “trends”. We prefer to stick to numbers and announcements that can be checked. Here is what emerges from the organiser's official communications and the trade press.

  • Technology weighs more and more. In 2025 the part of the fair dedicated to Travel Tech grew by 55% and, according to the organiser, 52% of visitors were actively looking to meet technology companies. Hence the decision to launch WTM Travel Tech as a standalone event.
  • The market is widening. New exhibitors include tourism boards from countries less present in the past, airlines, hotel groups and brands such as GetYourGuide. The Travel Tech area also features, among the newcomers, an eSIM provider: a sign that connectivity is now part of the travel ecosystem.
  • Resilience and reinvention. It is the official theme of the edition. Sustainability is also an axis of the sessions, starting with the ministerial ones.
⚠️ What you will and won't find in this guide

This article is published before the event and does not anticipate what will be said on the stages. An analysis of the trends that emerge during the fair would only make sense after 5 November, with verifiable data and announcements.

Why connectivity is not a detail at a trade fair

Picture the scene. It is the second day, you have an appointment with a buyer set for 11:00, and at 10:40 a message arrives: the room has changed, the meeting has been brought forward. Or you need to send an offer to a client while queueing for coffee, and the Wi-Fi has stopped. Or again: you are presenting a destination by video call to a partner who is not in London, and the connection drops in the middle of the screen share.

At a trade fair information travels faster than feet. Schedules change, meetings move, contacts and documents are exchanged in real time. Whoever is connected decides; whoever is not is left chasing.

  • Exhibitors: stand management, leads, communication with head office, presentations to show to buyers.
  • Buyers and tour operators: meeting schedules, quotes, file exchange and digital signatures.
  • Tourism boards and delegations: coordination with the team, interviews, content for social channels.
  • Journalists and creators: live streams, sending heavy photos and videos, newsroom deadlines.

The same question applies to everyone: what happens if the network I rely on does not hold up? An eSIM bought before departure is a plan B that does not depend on anyone's Wi-Fi.

Getting to ExCeL: ETA and transport

Before connectivity, there is the journey. Two things to sort out in good time.

ETA: the UK travel authorisation

Since 25 February 2026 many travellers who could previously enter the United Kingdom without a visa must hold an approved ETA (Electronic Travel Authorisation) before boarding a plane, train or ferry. It is not a visa and is linked to your passport. Since 8 April 2026 it costs 20 pounds per person. In general it is not required for British and Irish citizens.

⚠️ Only a few days left: don't put it off

Approval usually comes quickly, but industry sources advise allowing up to three working days. If you are travelling to WTM London and do not yet have your ETA, apply now, and only through the official channels of the British government (the GOV.UK website or official app). Always check whether your nationality requires one.

How to get to ExCeL

According to the directions published by the organiser, the venue can be reached as follows:

  • DLR (Docklands Light Railway): train towards Beckton.
  • Elizabeth line: links Paddington and Heathrow directly; Liverpool Street and Canary Wharf are also on the route.
  • By air: London City Airport is less than a mile from ExCeL, with flights to and from Europe and beyond. You can also land at London's other five airports and continue by public transport.
  • Cable car: from North Greenwich Pier (O2) you can cross the river on the Emirates Airline Cable Car to ExCeL.

For the best route from your hotel use the TfL Journey Planner, which requires an active data connection. One more reason to land with your eSIM already installed.

Working at the fair: hotspot and continuity

The phone is the easy part. The problem is the computer: offers to send, calls to make, files to upload, content to publish. That is why it makes sense to choose an eSIM that includes hotspot, that is, the ability to share data with a PC and tablet.

We have no official data on the capacity of the Wi-Fi at ExCeL during WTM London, so we can promise you neither one thing nor the other. What we know in general is that the shared networks at large events are used by thousands of devices at once. Four habits help:

  1. Don't depend on a single network. The fair's or hotel's Wi-Fi as a first choice, an eSIM as a backup ready to use.
  2. Use your phone as a bridge for your PC. Hotspot is for the moments when the Wi-Fi drops, not only when travelling.
  3. Prepare for heavy files. Videos, high-resolution photos and live streams consume a lot: with a fixed-GB plan the risk of running dry mid-day is real (we will see it in the real data below).
  4. Avoid sensitive logins on unknown public Wi-Fi. For email and your company's systems, a personal mobile connection is the more prudent choice.
📶 Hotspot included: ideal for multiple devices, teams and families

The BLIVALE Unlimited Premium and BLIVALE Unlimited Smart eSIMs have hotspot included, so they suit all travellers with multiple devices and families.

Most of the remaining eSIMs also offer hotspot; however, if you plan to use it intensively, BLIVALE's Unlimited Premium eSIMs are recommended.

Real number or data only? What you need on a business trip

A data-only eSIM is perfect for maps, email, video calls and app-based messaging (WhatsApp, Teams, Zoom). But a professional may also need calls, SMS and OTP codes: a booking confirmation, the bank's code, two-factor authentication for a work account. With a data-only eSIM these channels depend on your home SIM. If your phone supports two SIMs, you can keep it active for calls and SMS and use the eSIM for data; in that case, check your operator's roaming rates.

📱 BLIVALE eSIM with a real number

BLIVALE provides eSIMs with a real mobile number for calls and SMS in the country, in the region or globally. The number can also be used to receive OTPs and to sign up for apps such as WhatsApp, where virtual numbers are not supported.

👉 Discover BLIVALE eSIMs with a mobile number

The availability of eSIMs with a number varies by destination: on the dedicated page you can check which version is available for your trip before choosing.

When you need a person, not just an app

There is one last aspect that is underestimated until it is needed: if something goes wrong (a QR code that does not arrive, a profile that will not install), being able to count on human support makes all the difference, especially with an appointment in your diary. BLIVALE's contact channels are listed on the website.

UK Unlimited eSIM: what it includes and what it costs

The BLIVALE UK Unlimited eSIM offers a truly unlimited data connection throughout the United Kingdom, running on the main local partner networks: Vodafone, EE, Telefonica O2 and Hutchison 3. It is a premium profile that applies no Fair Usage Policy (FUP) and no speed limits, with browsing on 3G, 4G/LTE and 5G, a guaranteed minimum speed of 10 Mbps (which may vary depending on local coverage or network congestion) and an automatic reset of high-speed traffic every 24 hours. Being able to count on an Unlimited eSIM means something that weighs heavily at a fair: continuity of connection and the peace of mind of not watching a counter.

  • Hotspot included, to share data with PCs, tablets and other devices.
  • No contract and no ID documents to provide.
  • Support for all internet apps: WhatsApp, Teams, Zoom and GPS navigation.
  • Duration in calendar days, with a reset at midnight UTC: in November in London local time matches UTC, so the reset happens at local midnight.
  • Personalised QR code by email within 1-4 hours of purchase: don't wait until the last minute.

📡 What “unlimited” really means

Unlimited refers to data, not coverage: the signal always depends on the local operators' networks and on congestion at the time, which can be felt in an area with tens of thousands of professionals. The concrete advantage is being able to use maps, video, tethering and video calls without a GB cap to respect.

When activation starts: the detail that changes your days

A point that is often discovered too late: when you install the QR code, activation starts immediately. The days of use begin counting from that moment, not from when you land in London.

⏱️ Mind the moment of installation

If you install the eSIM the day before departure or on the same day, you need an active internet connection (home, hotel or airport Wi-Fi) to complete the installation. Also remember that the QR code arrives by email within 1-4 hours of purchase: plan with a margin.

In practice, if you arrive in London for 3 November, it is best to install the eSIM close to departure but not at the last minute, and to choose the duration counting the days from when you install it.

How much data you really use: a real case in the United Kingdom

“But how many gigabytes do I need?” is the question almost no one answers with an honest number, because it depends on how you use your phone. To give you a concrete reference we analysed the usage data of a BLIVALE UK Unlimited eSIM from 21 to 23 July 2026, extracted from the monitoring panel.

📦Total traffic in the period (19 records)about 15.95 GB (15,947.97 MB in the panel)
📅Highest day (21 July, partial)about 7.55 GB
📈Highest single record (21 July, 19:48 UTC)about 7.07 GB

The chart tells you what a GB-based package does not show: consumption is not regular. On 22 July traffic was below 1 GB, while 21 and 23 July were over 7 GB each. Isolated peaks show up in individual records: about 7.07 GB on 21 July and about 5.81 GB on 23 July. With a 10 GB plan, the limit would have been exceeded on 23 July with the 15:06 UTC record.

These are the original screenshots of the panel, with a total that matches the analysis above (19 records, 15,947.97 MB):

⚠️ How to read these numbers

This is a real example of usage, not an average valid for everyone and not a promise of consumption. The panel indicates a 4-8 hour delay in displaying details and shows times in UTC (in July the United Kingdom is one hour ahead, because of daylight saving time). We do not know which apps generated the traffic: the data only shows how much usage can vary when there is no cap to respect.

Checklist before leaving for London

  • Check your registration and badge on the official website wtm.com, and confirm dates and opening hours.
  • Check whether your nationality requires an ETA and, if so, apply right away through the official channels.
  • Check that your phone supports eSIM and is not locked to an operator.
  • Buy the eSIM before departure: the QR code arrives by email within 1-4 hours.
  • Install the eSIM over Wi-Fi, remembering that the days start immediately.
  • Choose the duration according to your dates: for three days of fair plus travel and return, the 7-day plan leaves a margin.
  • Save the email with the QR code offline too and take a screenshot.
  • Download offline maps of London and the Royal Docks area, and save addresses and appointments.
  • If you need calls, SMS and OTPs, consider an eSIM with a real number or a second home SIM.
  • Keep the support contacts to hand, for any unforeseen event.

Frequently asked questions (FAQ)

When and where does WTM London 2026 take place?

WTM London 2026 takes place from 3 to 5 November 2026 (Tuesday to Thursday) at ExCeL London, Royal Victoria Dock, 1 Western Gateway, London E16 1XL. The organiser is RX. If you find online calendars with different dates, the official event website, wtm.com, is the reference.

Is WTM London open to the public?

No. WTM London is a trade-only event: tour operators, buyers, tourism boards, airlines, hotels, travel technology companies and media. Entry requires registration and a badge; conditions, badge types and deadlines should be checked on the official website, wtm.com.

Do I need an ETA to travel to London for the fair?

It depends on your nationality. Since 25 February 2026, many travellers who can enter the United Kingdom without a visa must hold an approved ETA (Electronic Travel Authorisation) before boarding; British and Irish citizens generally do not need one. Since 8 April 2026 it costs 20 pounds per person. Check on the official GOV.UK website whether your nationality requires an ETA and apply well in advance.

How do I get to ExCeL London?

According to the organiser's directions: by DLR (Docklands Light Railway) towards Beckton, by the Elizabeth line, which links Paddington and Heathrow directly, or by air to London City Airport, less than a mile from the venue. Use the TfL Journey Planner for the best route for you.

Is the fair's Wi-Fi enough to work?

We have no official data on the capacity of the Wi-Fi at ExCeL during WTM London, so we cannot say. In general, at large events the shared network is used by thousands of devices at once: if you need to take calls, stream or upload heavy files, having your own backup connection is a real advantage. An eSIM with hotspot lets you connect your computer too.

What does the UK Unlimited eSIM include?

It is a premium profile with truly unlimited data in the United Kingdom, running on the Vodafone, EE, Telefonica O2 and Hutchison 3 networks. It applies no Fair Usage Policy and no speed limits, with a guaranteed minimum speed of 10 Mbps (which may vary depending on local coverage or network congestion) and an automatic reset of high-speed traffic every 24 hours. It includes hotspot, supports WhatsApp, Teams, Zoom and GPS navigation, and requires no contract or ID documents.

How much does it cost and which duration should I choose?

The available durations are 7, 10, 15, 20 and 30 days, priced at €23.70, €33.70, €50.70, €67.70 and €100.70 respectively. The catalogue also includes a 10-day promotional pack at €29.00. For WTM London (three days of fair) the 7-day plan leaves room for travel and the return trip; if you add meetings or visits in other UK cities, consider 10, 15 or more days.

When do the eSIM's days of use start?

Activation starts immediately, the moment you install the QR code: the days of use begin from that instant, not from your arrival in London. If you install the eSIM the day before departure or on the same day, you need an internet connection (Wi-Fi) to complete the installation. Duration is counted in calendar days and high-speed traffic resets at midnight UTC, which in November in London matches local midnight.

How long does the QR code take to arrive after purchase?

The personalised QR code is sent by email within 1-4 hours of purchase. It is therefore best to buy in advance, save the email and install the eSIM when you have Wi-Fi available.

Does the Unlimited eSIM have hotspot?

Yes. The Unlimited Premium and Unlimited Smart eSIMs include hotspot, so they suit travellers with multiple devices and families. Most of the other eSIMs also offer hotspot, but for intensive use the Unlimited Premium eSIMs are recommended.

Can I receive calls, SMS and OTP codes with a travel eSIM?

Not with a standard data-only eSIM. However, eSIMs with a real mobile number are available for calls and SMS in the country, in the region or globally; the number can also be used to receive OTPs and to sign up for apps such as WhatsApp, where virtual numbers are not supported. Availability varies by destination: check the dedicated page to see which eSIM with a number is available for your trip.

How much data does an Unlimited eSIM really use in the United Kingdom?

It depends on how you use your phone. In a real case of a UK Unlimited eSIM monitored from 21 to 23 July 2026, total traffic was about 15.95 GB (15,947.97 MB in the panel), with one day of about 7.55 GB (21 July) and one of about 7.42 GB (23 July). It is an example of usage, not an average valid for everyone.

Conclusions

For three days WTM London 2026 will be one of the densest gatherings of professional meetings in the global travel industry: the 2025 edition counted 46,500 attendees from 182 countries. Anyone who goes there for work knows that time at a fair is counted in minutes, and that a connection that drops at the wrong moment cannot be recovered.

The most useful advice is the least spectacular: sort out the boring things before you leave. Registration and badge, ETA, the route to ExCeL and connectivity. With a BLIVALE Unlimited eSIM you get continuity of connection and truly unlimited data in the United Kingdom, with hotspot included for your computer; and if you also need a number for OTPs, calls and SMS, check the availability of eSIMs with a real number. The rest, deals included, is up to you.

Next time you are in transit or travelling, don't be left without a connection.

There are international connectivity solutions designed precisely for travellers and professionals: activated in 2 minutes, working in over 200 countries, with no long-term contracts.
